Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps started his Olympic career when he was 15 at the Sydney Olympics. He was the youngest on the team in 68 years. Two months after the Olympics he set his first world record. At the 2004 Olympics he got his first Olympic medal. Four years later at the Beijing 2008 he got 8 golds. Most golds in one single games. More than Mark Spitz. One of the 8 events the butterfly, he won by one one-hundredth of a second. Later at the 2012 London Olympics, he earned more medals than any other Olympic athlete ever. He had twenty-two medals, eighteen gold, two silver, and two bronze. At the Rio Olympics, Michael earns more medals still. The Rio Olympics is the last one he’ll be at.

Katie Ledecky

Katie Ledecky’s debut started at the London 2012 at fifteen. She is a long distance swimmer, but it seems like she sprints every lap. At London she did the eight-hundred and won it. In Rio she enters in shorter distance races like the two-hundred and the four-hundred. She always does the eight-hundred though.

Missy Franklin

Missy Franklin’s debut also started at the London 2012 Olympic games. She entered many events and she broke many world records.  In 2016 she still enters many events and wins a lot.

Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte is Michael Phelps arch rival. He has many medals and enters in a lot of events. In Rio he failed to make it to the four-hundred I.M. He still is entered in a lot of events.

Shirley Babashoff

Shirley Babashoff’s competed in the 1976. She was a great swimmer at that time. She trained with the men. During that  time East Germans were taking drugs and Shirley Babashoff was cheated. She didn’t even know it. At the end of the Olympics she won against them in a relay.

Nathan Adrian

Nathan Adrian is a short distance swimmer. He won gold at the London Olympics. He entered for more events in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Dana Volmer

Dana Volmer is an amazing swimmer. In London she won gold in the one-hundred fly. Recently she had a baby boy. During that time she had a difficult time warming up. She is getting  better. In Rio she is entered in more events.
